He is a very smart gentleman, no doubt about it!
But, why didn’t The Times newspaper show us Zuma’s career in pictures after he was axed by th same Thabo Mbeki, for no reason?
Ndumiso
This is one of our own, a gentleman, a son of Africa, who got misled by his fears of his own people. I dont blame him but a natural instinct of personal security.
As Mzakhe Mbuli would say that the the feeling of self important is the greatest instinct in humanking and eventually got the better of Baba u-Mbeki.
Siyazibongela Mbeki…

I’d like to say congrats to Tata Mbeki and best wishes to our next coming State President.

mbeki u will always be our hero let them enjoy their victory for now and they will blame each other at the end

What a shame on SA.I never thought its possible.Really dismayed

Sad story.
He did a good job, even if people cannot appreciate this… and time will tell this.

Mbeki a good president and if steps down it will be a real shame and a significant loss that will be felt through-out the entire country, now..if Trever Manual leaves with him, it will also be a great loss & it will hurt EVERYONE where it hurts most…our wallets.
I am currently in the UK and I was reading on what the sunday times quoted on what the foreign press is saying about the current ecomonic situation. Here is a quote below….
“The article also mentioned Mbeki’s perceived weakness in handling “the HIV/Aids crisis” and his failure to stem “violent crime in the country”.
In comparing Thabo Mkebi & J.Zuma (who is assumed to take Mbeki’s place), I personally dont think that J.Zuma- a man with obviously very little or no moral fibre in him what so ever, will do a better job in handeling the HIV/AIDS crisis.
If J.Z cannot practice the basic principle of having safe *** (especially if he has the crutial knowledge that his partner is HIV Positive), if he does’nt care & value his own life & the lives of those who love him (i.e: his other wives, etc), then, how can entrust to this man the responsiblity of “handeling” the country’s HIV/AIDS crisis?
How can we entrust him to value the lives of his own people & how do we expect him to bring forth the contribution of finding a solution to this epidemic if he cannot see anything wrong with his actions, the same actions which are not only part of the problem but ARE the problem, the same actions that continue to fuel the rapid spreading of this disease. How are we as a people expected to hope to get answers from J.Z when he HIS actions are the problem.
J.Z knows has an influence amongst his many supporters, especially to the many uneducated, so he flaunts and parades that he will get off the charges brought against him, rape, fraud, etc, & his supporters cheer and shout & back-him up, but what doesn’t seem to get through that very big thick skull of his, is that, when he sings and cheers and justfies doing all those wrong things, his supporters will emulate his actions, they will sing & cheer and when they do something wrong, they will also justify their actions, leaving his supporters to ignore whats right & justify what is obviously wrong, that line between wrong & right will be erased, leaving a trail of crime & corruption…
I personally think Thabo Mbeki is a great leader. If he steps down and J.Zuma takes his place…we are in very big trouble!

In the run up to SA’s first election, I remember the two main issues that were raised by political commentators that would be key to our new democracy… They were sustainability in solid leadership and succession planning; and a sound opposition party to make SA a truly bi-party state… Well, we will now pay the price in terms of our failure to deliver on both of these issues… unless, new intelligent talent that is grounded in the realities of the day emerges and there is a splintering of the ANC as we know it… Power corrupts! Does it not? What sadness abounds!

I am just worried about what will happen to the economy of the country, believe me when I say “this is just the beginning, worse things are still to come”
Mbeki has done so much for the country, and this is how we thank him….
South Africa needs prayers

I find it sad and losing hope in the current leadership on the ANC,I agree that he had shortcomings like any other human being,he did elbowed other powerfull leaders however the very same leaders served under Mr Mandela who forgave people who thew his life in prison for 27yrs for ideals of what he believed in.They should have learnt from him what forgiveness means & putting the countrys interests first.Mr President in the midst of your demise just look up to your maker & thanks for the good things & dedicating your life to the struggle of the underdogs

To Mr. Mbeki,
On behalf of the peoples of Africa i would like to convey our appreciation to Mr. Mbeki for his selfless service to the country. Its a pity that he has to leave the office in this manner, because of a select a few individuals. I feel sorry for the leaders who think that they have the support of the people, the citizens of the country are all sad and disgraced by the uncoath behavior of these people who call themselves leaders of people. Not very long, things are gona turn sour, they gona turn against each other its evident. These people lack self respect, and have no respect for the people, and they will do the same to their elected leaders.
To all the people of South Africa and Africans as a whole, lets bow down our heads and pray to the Almighty, to do the impossible by removing all the corrupt and ungodly leaders and send us leaders who can serve the people justly, leaders who fear the Lord.
Africa unite.

I believe that nobody is perfect and we all make mistake due to panic sometimes.Mr Mbeki has his faults so does Mr Zuma.this brings us to the question that who are we as a nation to judge them both. I am not saying that Mr Mbeki did’nt abuse his power nor am i saying he did but Mr Zumas faults were displayed in public.
XIKOMBISO
I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT IT VERY PITY TO SAY THANK IN SUCH MANOR TO OUR HONOURABLE PRESIDENT THABO MBEKI.I FORESEE DANGER IN SOUTH AFRICA.WHAT CAN WE EXPECT FROM THE LEADER WHO ENCOURAGES BAD BEHAVIOUR.ZUMA IS UNABLE TO DISCIPLINE ANC YOUTH LEAGUE PRESIDENT IN HIS DISRESPECTFUL WORDS AND BAD BEHAVILUR.IN MY UNDERSTNDING, THE LEADERSHIP WILL BE UNDISCIPLINED FROM TOP TO DOWN.ANC HAVE THE POSSIBILITIES OF LOOSING NUMBER OF VOTES IN THE COMING ELECTIONS.LETS PRAY FOR OUR COUNTRY BEFORE ITS ECONOMY FALL DOWN LIKE ZIMBABWE.
Manana
What a shame that five decades of Mr Mbeki’s total dedication and loyalty to the ANC; and his leadership in getting the country to where it is now have been disregarded.
Africa and the world (and history, as well) will judge us harshly for the way this comrade has been treated.
Masego
I m very dissapointed with the decision taken by the NEC of the ANC, they are fulfilling their own political agenda to remove the President, I wonder if they thought of the good things done by our President, look at the economic growth of SA, his intervention at the African countries Cote Idevoii, Zimbabwe and may more. The dignity be brougth to us as the nation, He represented us well. I would like to say to Him we are proud to have had an intelligent Presidet He will always be remembered for His good work. SOUTH AFRICA WHERE ARE WE GOING…?
Raji Matshedisho
Dear Mr President
It is sad to see you go. I thank you for your leadership and share your vision of an orderly and just world.
You will always be my President.
Nelisa Ngqulana
To Mr Mbeki, your hard work has by no means gone unnoticed. South Africa has become a force to be reckoned with not, only in Africa but in the world. Thank you for your contribution.
It is rather unfortunate that the fate of this beautiful country now lies in the hands of hooligans!!! It is a real shame. We still live in hope that things will change and that they really do have the will of the people at heart.
Farewell, dear president. It’s time for you to rest.
Mabitsela
Hitler is back in the form JZ “Sub A”Zuma. He is useless and more useless than Mugabe. He does not even know factos that influence the economy of the country. All he knows is to rape and delaying tactics. He is a BSTARD.
mbuso
All those who judge Zuma by his education or lack of sld look at this from a reverse angle: With hi Sub A, has managed what people with multiple degrees can only dream of. Shows a true test of courage, 2 lead the educated.

What an Intellectual. He has done exceptionally well in building our economy. He has followed the constitution Very well just as required; his departure is because of political situation. ANC and NEC were very reactionary to the court decision on Jacob Zuma. It seems as if they are controlled by the media, of which this country does not need very reactionary leaders who are influenced by the media, they should take time to follow decision making process. The influence of Julius Malema and his inability to tack to the media should be taken into consideration by the next President. We don’t need emotional leaders just like Malema. I don’t know how such leaders are elected. Does the guy know his Job? What is the vision of ANCYL?
Dumolwethu
The decision by the ANC to “recall” Mr. Mbeki from the Presidency has confirmed what we’ve been suspecting – that the ANC is not led by those that were elected at Polokwane in December, but by Julius Malema, Zwelinzima Vavi and Blade Nzimande.
It is said to see such a great leader bow out the way Mbeki was forced to. He has been an inspiration to many young people like myself, who want to become better persons tomorrow. He has served the movement with distinction. I am going to miss him. I just hope that he can continue to work for a better Africa and a better world. I say farewell to Dlamini, Jama kaSjadu, Mtatela. His efforts to build a just and fair society will never go unnoticed. I wish him all the best in your future.
I bestow upon him the honour of ISITHWALANDWE.

ANC deployed “to be” former state president Thabo Mbeki and the latter was confirmed by parliament, this was purely on the basis of working against the ANC itself, how do u trust someone holding the highest office representing the party but does not attend the executive meetings of the party, etc. This sober decision was taken by the ANC after clearly considering the implication of having a cdre who no longer take instructions from his own party and became a one man decision maker.
Administratively he was good, but politically was a worst enemy of himself!!

You are the true man Thabo. Indeed, you exit with dignity. I lost count of how many times they howled at you during Zuma’s trials; Zimbabwe negotiations etc. But through all, you maintained your cool. They are still howling. They will continue to. Only that, this time, they won’t have Thabo to howl to. And they will turn against themselves. Malema, the master howling dog who knows no restraint will turn to his masters.
I pity Kgalema. He would otherwise make a good candidate, in fact, he is by far, the best of the lot. However, will the Vavis and the SACP give him any room to move?
Zuma, you have proven to be such a hypocrite in this. If your being fired as the country’s DP was unfair, is firing Mbeki fair. We know now sir, that you are being driven by nothing else but revenge. I could never vote for you. Even if, say per adventure , I agree with you that you were fired unfairly, sir, with all due respect, two wrongs never make a right.
Thabo, once more, thank you for showing us the true leadership qualities. If by the way you were to decide to start up a new political party, we are here for you.
maqoba
It was really sad to see Mr Mbeki leave like that. He dedicated 52 YEARS to a movement that was prepared to kick him out like a dog. Thats sad.
Mr Mbeki you are a true intellect. And thanks for all that you have done to put SA and AFRICA on the map.
I wonder what legacy Zuma will leave?

I don’t give a **** bt Politics but i hope the taxes go down soon and the Death Penalty be brought back…. OH and ya lets go back to the Old…u rape we cut of your **** world……u steal we cut of u’r fingers….Zuma Dude…this crime **** should be taken serius…..awethu Broer….
and the Mbeki dude…no disrespect homie but u were dope…. you were an awesome president bra…. Your homies screwed u over bra…and why is that Cat Zuma dissing u like that…thats plain hating dude…

I would like to salute my President, Mr Mbeki. Sir what ever you are going through now, please know we support you fully. The decision you took against JZ still makes sense to us as people who believe in clean governence. We know you would never support many of us who have decided not to vote than to vote ANC. History will absolve you Sir. I also fully support you in your appeal to clear your name. Nothing would be sweeter than proof that you never interfeared in the work of the NPA and that your removal was only about revenge. Farewell Mr President
HLUMI
That’s not fair to treat Mr Mbeki like that, even if anyone can think of. He is a human being like everybody else ,he deserves a respect.
FATIMA
Mr Mbeki believed in good clean governence. I salute him for that. Most NEC members currently serving within the ANC are fraudsters they were elected collectively to get back at President Thabo Mbeki at Polokwane.
If you are a leader you should not be afraid to fire your own friends regarding corruption and facts, of which i doubt if Mr Zuma can do that.
This country needs a very strong opposition party. That can only come out of the ruling party. I support a split within the ANC. Farewell Mr President we Love You.
Noni
The only person that causes all this nonsense in the ANC is that stupid boy with big cheeks as if he just ate Nestum Julius Malema. I hate him with all my heart and he doesn’t have respect and I’m dead sure that he doesn’t even respect his mother, no woman would want to get married to such arrogant ******* and soon he’ll be fired by the very same people that elected him. As for Mbeki he was my favourite President and I wish him well in the near future, God Bless you my Father.
vincent seletisha
i’m very much touched as the loyal member of the ANC about the decision which was taken by the NEC to recall our President Comrade Thabo Mbeki who did well during his term which is not yet finished but intervened by the people who claim to be good and they are not.In fact i stared to loose trust in ANC.
I would like to salute the President of our country for the development He has brought in our life and i wonder if the incoming leadership will manage to reach his level, in fact Comrade Thabo Mbeki would always remain the cornestone of development in the WORLD and our President even if He is out of the office. If it is possible for My President Comrade Thabo Mbeki to establish his own organisation i’ll be the first person to vote for him.
I have realised that ANC does not want decesive leadership to deal with their misconduct and mismanagement of the resources but Thabo Mbeki and Sello Moloto are the one who are capable of that.
For the good job my president did, that’s how the ANC recognise his excellence but it is not appreciable and good at all to us as the memeber of the public who voted him in the office. It should be better for the president of the state to be voted by us only, how can huluganes raise a vote of no confidence in our President while they are nothing.
MAY BE THATS THE END OF THE COUNTRY long live MY PRESIDENT THABO MBEKI LONG LIVE.AWAY WITH CORRUPT LEADERSHIP AWAY!!! FAREWELL MY PRESIDENT I WILL ALWAYS SUPPORT YOU AND WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE YOU.
eunice tsese
I salute Thabo Mbeki for al his hard work. yes, he has made mistakes, he’s human – WE ARE NOT PERFECT! The shenanigans of the weekend have left me shattered as a young South African, is this what we have come to? A people without decency & not the slightest bit of respect for a man who has led us for almost a decade???
Well, let us see what the “rulers” of this country will do that’s new & refreshing? Let the Malema’s rule – i’m a very distant spectator. I can almost tell what will happen – Zuma will be a puppet president who will be controlled by this stupid boy, Malema!!!
I feel sorry for him – will he cry conspiracy again when they kick him to the curb as well?, because Mr Zuma whether you like it or not – THEY WILL KICK YOU OUT AS WELL IF YOU DON’T DANCE TO THEIR TUNE – especially after they fought tooth and nail to let you walk free…
Boitumelo
There was no need for the Zuma camp to recall Ex President Mbeki like that. It clearly shows that the ANC is being led by the no good people like Malema and Vavi.
We all know that Mr Mbeki was going to leave but to humilate him like that, man. What happen to Ubuntu?
Zuma on my closing note please call Malema into order, teach him how to respect people, not everyone support Zuma but we learn to respect him.
Unathi Gwama
To me this seems as if no one cares about the country, no patriots at all, but it’s about fame and money. this is not far to Father Mbeki. What is it that Mbeki has done that people can not wait for just six month to get ride of him. Just think of what Malilma has done to him, think if it was your father, I think he should follow Mbalula and learn the respect in a Xhosa way. people are fighting with morrowless bone. we have no say in SA now why then we should vote if people do things for us or do we have to leave ANC becouse of mad people like Malima and Vavi. please guys learn some respect and how to talk with old people or lets understand that you’v grown as fatherless kids and you don’t know then what is a father.
Anele Matoti
many a great man will come before his time, only to be dethroned by jealousy and greed!! to you our president, you have shown us what is possible, how so many of us could see the good ans also know that all is not remedied in so short a time. thank you none the less! now perhaps a bit of quiet time for a man many would say is not ready! but please, know that we love and respect you!
Malizo Sinono
My dearest gallant revolutionary. Everyday I think about the wonderful work that you have done for this beautiful land. I still remain a member of the ANC and encouraged by the titanic and moving speech you made when the current NEC took that unwarranted decision to remove you from the office. That day will forever be a dark spot in our revolution. Like a patriot and well trained revolutionery, you kept calm and rose above those emotional decisions.
I have learnt a lot from you and your committment to the cause of our troubled continent. You have taken the instruction from Tambo to look after the ANC to the best of your ability and so wherever you are and whatever you do,never think for a moment that Tambo will think you failed him.
Those who potray you as counter-revolutionary are revolutioneries themselves in their conduct. The cause of our people is at the back of their minds. I do not see branches swelling their numbers and producing good quality members as we were promised towards Polokwane. All we see is this hatred that is developing within the ANC and the fact that if you did not support the current president, automatically, you are a secondary member of the movement. Your absence kills me inside. I hope to be part of the New Leadership School and do my best to support the cause of the revolution that you continue to uphold.
Mxolisi
Truth will come out as to who is telling wich truth. Why was Zuma targetted alone and not the rest.Proof will have to come from Germany and Britain’s Offices for Seriuos Crimes. Mbeki never told the truth about his role.We are now getting there now that Zuma is releasing information..
ANC Lives On!!
He founded COPE! If that is what Tambo wanted Mbeki to do then someone is lying. He is even now guiding them.Justice Malala did give that report.Shilowa met him before meeting the media.Mbeki left the ANC in tatters and in the worst situation ever in the History of the Strugle.
ANC Branches died under Mbeki, Children and **** got some rights against the majority saying no to such things. When informed he just looked the other way.
He is even absolving his Despot friends like Mugabe,Al Bashir, etc.
I see no reason to celebrate Mbeki. He was the most arrogant leader and a despot like Helen Zille in DA. People disappeared and others were involved in very dubiuos car accidents! He is no example at all.His new Babe now is COPE let him grow it.The Farms his friends are collecting for mining robbing our chiefs their livelihood are an indictment to what this country would have become if Mbeki was not removed.
Under him,Mluleki,Shilowa, Mufamadi were reported to be criss-crosing this country with money bags trying to buy votes of Polokwane delegates. This country, Azania would have been a Banana Republic as COPE calls it under Zuma, after we rejected them in Polokwane.
I am not sure what Essop Pahad is trying to achieve in this time of Election. He is working with Zuma on other projects but now is *****-footing an Agenda. This Nation?
By the ANC, for the ANC
Leaders who act as if they are the ANC, do not deserve to lead the Party.Zuma included.Mbeki thought we owe him something. He is was no listening to the masses. He was not attending the new NEC meetings. What should the NEC do? They had to recall him and get someone who was to take the new leadership seriuosly.
I do not regret. He some good but yes grew too big and thought we who chose him, owed him.
He now landed in COPE. Let them buy and sell Votes there! Here in the ANC, we vote.COPE has some Committee that choses for their members. That is what they call their Democracy. We, on the ground, vote who we want.+ 4500 Delegates across the country, during day-light, in public,we, voted Zuma, Jacob Gedleyihlekisa to jumb in to the shoes of Tambo!!!!!!!!! and to lead this Liberation Movement. He must listen to us! otherwise…..Pasop.De-mo-cra-cy!!!
Mbeki failed the test 6 months before his time was up.Why should we serve his interests at the movement’s expence? He was supposed to listen to us not the other way around. We sent him for a purpose. He was arrogant.
It was humiliating yes, but the movement under all other Leaders did the same e.g. Moroka and others.we need servants and not masters at that level. It is a new Day now.we moved on.He has moved on with COPE.No hard feelings. They can appoint him as Presidential Candidate if they want as they also recall remember:Lekota got it from the news and ran to KZN.ANC has decency they allowed Mbeki to come and explain. When he failed, he was the first to know, then the Media.Reaction:caught by suprise and legal advice:No recourse.Arrogance was his down fall.
