Abantu bakuthi abasabambanga buntu babo ngoku.Ubulwanyana bungene ebantwini,I am not trying to offend anyone, but it must be clear that only ‘ANIMALS’ can attack and kill each other ngale ndlela benza ngayo aba bantu.Sisuka kude singama-Afrika,ngoku yintoni esohlulayo ukuba simanyane? We are all human beings regardless of where we are from.Ayikho ntle into yokubona abantu bebulawa kwaye ayamnkeleki tu konke. Come on now black people. This is the most inferior complex behaviour I’ve ever witness. Lets stop hiding behind our failures. If you dont love yourself as uDarkie how will you love others. Xenophonia is hatred of yourself. Killing uDarkie is killing yourself. God loves us all

I think the protest against Xeneophobia was a great initiative by Sbu and all those that were behind it. It just shows us that there are sensible people in the world and people that really care about thier surroundings.
Lets help fight the crime that is going on. Dont think we are giving a good image about South Africa at this point.
My question to you guys is: Arent the South Africans in other countries foriegners???
Pearl
I think that we need to stand up and show that not everyone in SA agrees with these ruthless, savage attacks on foreigners. Therefore I take my hat off fot Sbu and others who marched yesterday.
There is unemployment and poverty. Yes. But how does bitting, raping, killing and acting like savages going to hepl us.
Masike sithobe umoya, really. It is trully disturbing to see so many young children having to camp out at police station and not really understanding what is happening.
Sonke sizalwa eAfrika ngoko ke singa ma Afrika regardless of nationality. Please let’s stop the violence. Ayisisi ndawo

This is just another indication that South Africans are lazy, jealous, greedy, selfish, corrupt and do not want to work hard for a living. They expect to be given everything for free and makes life difficult for other fellow african brothers who are obediently working hard. This foreigners are well disciplined and civilized, that’s why they can come and make a living in our own country. South Africa is slowly moving into the direction of other africans states and lets brace ourselves for more tougher times than this. Divisions amongst us as blacks will lead to further destructions that will take us nowhere.
Jason
I commend Sbu and the others that were there yesterday… If our leaders dont come to the party, then perhaps it’s drives and campaigns such as this one that’ll make a difference. Good on you Sbu!
Thabo Pule
There is a great work that need to be done regarding xenophobia and tribalism that surfaced due to these evil attacks that are occurring. I’ll appreciate to hook up with the likes of Sbu and all who supported an anti-xenophobia campaign. Let’s mobalise ways to heal tribalism and xenophobia. We have all it takes to bring peace and unity to Africa.

It is tragic to see these inhumane attacks in our rainbow’ish’ country.
It’s easy for the goverment to allow foreigners to come into South Africa as they please, not thinking about the logical repurcussions this can have.
The only way of sorting this problem out, is looking at the root of the issue. Yes, these attacks are absolutely unacceptable, but also think what is making these inhumane animals do this.
Cause and effect..

you guys cannot believe what Barend Mabuza ’s views were from sowetan.I Quote “I strongly condone the violence against foreigners including Tsongas and Vendas. Not all foreigners are criminals or stealing jobs for South Africans, but we also need to find a way of dealing with foreigners who are committing crimes against our fellow South Africans.
I hope the recent violence will reduce the influx of Zimbabweans into our country as the government has been failing for decade to control the situation.
All these celebs and big shots who are complaining in the media about unfair treatment of foreigners, they must take this foreigners into their homes in Sandton or Houghton, then they will feel how irritating it is to be with these Zimbabweans”
I think this guy is a selfish Zulu without forecast.

We must do something about this cause it is getting out of control.I believe people who are doing these are those who diidnt go to school they dont know anyrhing about UBUNTU/ BOTHO. i believe are those monkeys who did the same thing of undressing the lady with a mini skirt.
Mark
Sbu – Thank you for bringing a glimmer of hope to this dark period. Lets hope and pray that common sense can prevail and the killing of fellow Africans ceases. We are all family on this great ship called Africa. The world is watching us and now more than ever we need strong leadership. Will that leader, (man / woman) please stand up. Now.
Charmaine
I know that the majority of South Africa are horrified at he xenophobia attacks. But what can individual SA do to show that this horror, is something we do not accept or want to have. How do you attack defenseless woman and children. We have a generation of young people growing up and 14 years into democracy we still project violence as the route to instead of enjoying our country and our people. What has happened to the rainbow nation?
Shame on the people committing these acts are they are not a reflection of South Africa
not a relecflection of South Africa or South Africans !!!!!
Lerato
This is sickening and has traces of self-hatred. . It has to be stopped.South Africans need to continue to protest-
Emancipate urself from mental slavery-

This is utterly appalling and unacceptable!! Cry our beloved country….. cry for the shattered dreams of those who sacrificed their all for democracy in our land…… cry for our children who are growing up with fear, hatred and lies……. cry for our spineless leaders who have completely lost the plot!

I am a South African living in Europe.
My mother is Angolan and also fled her own country to the “grass is greener” South Africa. She lived in refugee camps and had nothing, just like everyone else now fleeing a miserable existence and looking for something better in SA
My Step-father is Mozambican – also fled home.
This makes them “foreigners”. But it makes them “Extra-Special” foreigners because they are also “European”.
I, being the only one in the family that was BORN in SA (my sister is also a “European Angolan South African!”), am then the only “non-foreigner”!
My question is, would a mob attacking foreigners stop and analyse the “foreigners” – kill my family and leave me be?
Or am I also a foreigner because my ancestors from some time long-gone were from Europe?
My opinion is that people blog about this, even South Africans in Europe blog about this because regardless of what has happened in the past, violence is unnacceptable and will not be tolerated!.
If Mandela taught us anything, if he taught these mobbers anything, it is that one must love, move forward and be tolerant! This is NOT what I think he envisioned for our people!
Lizzie
Do not destroy your country because you don’t like us . We will not grow old and die in your country. We will go back home and from a distance will see what will become of south africa without foreigners!

I’m really sad about what is happning in my country of birth. I’m an IT Consultant and my work involves a lot of travelling to most African Countries. I have never in my travelling experience being treated badly by any one from any of those countris.
I think we as South Africans are very selfish. We easily bite the hand that has fed us. Not so long ago the very same people we are burning we housing our current governemnt leaders. The same people were helping us to fight the then apartheid regim. It tears my heart apart when I see waht is happening. To all my fellow a Brothers and Sisters in AFRICA, all I can say is “I’M DEEPLY SORRY”.
FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME IN MY LIFE, I CAN’T WALK TALL AND PROUDLY SAY “I’m a BLACK South African”
John
I thank you Sbu for helping to fight this big demon that has entered mostly the minds of young people. When the Shangaans are all dead (they will never go away becaue most of them live here, that is whay Shangaan or Tsonga is and official langaguage) who will be next for being this or that?

I would be happy if someone could help me escape this. I’m Shangaan and an Engineer by qualification wiith couple of years of experience. I experienced xonophobia since I was at primary dchool despite being born here
now this is worse because I will be scared to even enter the townships. I want to leave and go over seas if there is a way. Help me if you can.
Cliff
It is interesting the way human mind works. During the hour of need, most of the current leaders were hosted by the frontline states (perhaps most young South Africans don’t even know the meaning of front line state). SA was supported by thiese same people you are touching, their taxes, their sweat, their sacrifices made you free from apartheid. SHAME ON YOU SOUTH AFRICANS. YOU FORGET TOO FAST!
BARBARA
AS A FELLOW SOUTH AFRICAN LIVING OVERSEAS(USA) I AM JUST IN A STATE OF SHOCK ABOUT WHAT IS HAPPENING IN MY/OUR COUNTRY…WHAT A SHAME ON YOU NON PEACE LOVING PEOPLE WHO ARE COMMITTING THOSE HATERED CRIMES..WHATEVER HAPPENED TO “UBUNTU” …..LETS STOP THE VIOLENCE.

The Thabo Mbeki led Govt. has failed the foreigners dismally. His Govt. is incompetent. This is a disaster that was waiting to happen since we gained freedom in 1994.
The Govt. should have atleast reduced the influx of foreigners by tightening security along the SA borders. The less said about the Dep. Of Home Affairs the better.
Muntu wa mama Afrika
We have suceeded to down play Genocide and call it xenophobia. Shame on you all not just for the mascre, but for down playing it.

SHAME ON SOUTH AFRICANS
I am really shocked to what the South Africans are doing to their neighbors. Didn’t you run to your neighbors for help during the apartheid regime. You may be really short minded shame, shame. I am just disgust.

I think that SA Intelligence Unit should STOP this movement with immediate effect since comments from the Minister of Safety/Security does not satisfy me. Fighting back is just to spread this issues. This is a BAD IMAGE TO SOUTH AFRICAN COMMUNITY.
Gareth
This is disgusting and an absolute disgrace – a display of savagery and blatant disregard for human rights. I am ashamed.

Zimbabweans HAVE TO GO HOME! and fight their battles just like South Africans died in nummbers at the hands of Boers. The leaders that took shelter in foreign countries, were there legally and pushing the struggle to set South Africa free!.And they were not there taking jobs from them or there in millions!!
Zimbabweans in South Africa, most of them commit horrendous crimes! take illegal employment and are not doing anything for their country! They go and vote!! fight for the change they need.
Who has been voting for Mugabe All these years?? it is them!
Who killed Lucky Dube?? Zimbabweans!!
No one deserves to die,but they have to GO!!
South Africans needs to take care of its people first!!
South Africans are not lazy, but they are victims of apartheid! Its only been 14years of democracy.
Do you really think that all those people who had their education interupted during the uprising and scarred by oppression are having a fair shot??? Where do you expect them do get skills from? do you expect your parents to go back to school in order have a skill that will lend them a job so they sent you to college??
Come on people!! if you got together good for you,but remember before you are where you cuz people layed down their lives!. Today they are being pushed back, labelled unskilled and lazy!
So foreighners can eat their bread and take all that their fought for!
Ofcourse anger and resentment will be the outcome!
South Africa failed its people!
All those who are doing well, look down on those who are struggling! There is upliftment of each other.
people are frustrated,in pain, set aside, belittled and labelled!!
What has the new south africa done to soothe the wounds of the previously scarred?
They deserve better! they fought and lost their children, their time, their window of opportunity, their dignity
Help the South Africans,so can help themselves to help others.!
HURT PEOPLE hurt other people!
WAKE UP SA!!!
Brent
Why has not one SA paper or news website carried the story of the protest march higher? It’s buried here, in the multimedia section and on FOREIGN news websites – instead, all we see in SA media is how bad things are. Things ARE bad, yes.. but – you need to assure South Africans kindred to the voices on this forum that they are not alone! Instead our dogged media clings to its typical focus on lambasting our bumbling politicians. Sure, they need to be lambasted – but SA needs a little inspiration first, frankly. If few in the country know of protest, it’s the Sunday Times and IOL’s fault entirely.
moshoeshoe k.
i think those protesting are doing a great job. south africans had to flee to other countries to hide from the apartheid era , they were supported and not beaten. why can’t we support our fellow zimbabweans , we all know the situation there. lets build a good image for our country. sbu! keep it up .
george mawuli
i think sa people have short memories.during the time of apartheid they cried for help from the same people they are burning now.the whole xenophobic story is just stupid to emerge from a country with a history well known by every human on earth.they are not yet out of the vagaries of apatheid and my prayer is God should return azania back to apartheid regime.i can just figure out africans behaving towards their fellow men like that.no wonder they strongly oppose african unity.they forget that those u pass by b4 climbing while descending u meet the same people.it is just unacceptable and i know God will surely punished this nation sevrely.i pray that it happens.i pray there should be a political turmoil in sa so its citizens would feel how it is to be in a situation like that.shame to sa and thabo mbeki.
